Mentally ill man left penniless by DWP is arrested at job centre for cracking a joke.

This is old news and pre-dates September 2013, however nothing has changed and these situations continue so is worth a reblog to keep it in peoples minds

Benefit tales

Many of us have had the experience of having no money arrive when it us due, or being sanctioned, when we are already barely surviving.

One of our members, Herbert, went in to the Job Centre last Wednesday to find out why his ESA had not been paid. He was promised it would be in his account that afternoon – that his allowance was being “amended”.

Between 2-5pm he checks and checks, and nothing. He goes in the next day, and has to make the call to Belfast again. This time, they decide they need to know his bank Sort Code which they have never asked for before, so he has to go and get it. During a heated argument on the phone where Herbert is told there is no emergency payment that can be made, security staff think it is their job to ask him to quiet down, Herbert…

South London Tory MP gets attacked in a hospital by a pensioner

Pride's Purge

(not satire – it’s the Tories!)

This hilarious status has just been posted on Facebook:

Sitting in the blood test department waiting to be seen when my MP walks in sits down. I get called in so does he, he sits in the chair next to me….nurse says to him you look familiar, he looks uncomfortable, he said his name, she said you are an MP arent you? One of them tory ones. The room goes deathly quiet.

A voice pipes up, yeah hes one of the bastards who signed clause 119 last week to shut this hospital down. An elderly lady walked up to him and hits him with her handbag and calls him a shit….and a few other choice words…..made the start of monday and the week a pretty lively one.

Big thanks to Paula Peters for the laugh.

Council Tax Criminal?

Michelle Burns

Today was the day. Yes, it was my turn. My turn to be summonsed to Truro Magistrates Court for non payment of 2013/14 Council Tax. Now, let me be very clear as all the Politicians state…..
“I have NO problem with Council Tax and would happily pay it, ‘if’ I were working”
However, I am not. I am disabled. I have partial sight and Sponylosis to name a couple of my disabilities. As most of you know, last year alot of things changed under the WRA – Welfare Reform Act.
Council Tax Benefit was scrapped and under the Localism Bill powers were handed to Local Authorities to set up their own schemes. To be called CTS – Council Tax Support. So now ALL people of working age, have to contribute to Council Tax.

Whoaaa!!! Most of these people are on some kind of benefit, like myself. I get ESA, some…

“Going on the sick is easy!” – PIP part one

Attention Seeking Survivor

The popular words that tumble from anyone who has never had the misfortune to actually be sick. A view fed by daily reports in the media of those fleecing the system and swanning off on luxury holidays at the expense of the poor tax payer. Such reporting has widened the gulf between the vulnerable and the general public with a massive increase in hate crimes against the disabled. We’re all faking it, oh, except the tiny few of course who are genuinely in need but we must make sure to out everyone through hell to make sure we weed out all those millions milking the system.

If only that were true. Visit any welfare rights website, forum, Facebook group or page and you will see dozens of stories every day from the genuinely in need being battered by a system set up to make the sick and disabled fail. Until…

Most jobseeker agreements ruled unlawful – and the DWP doesn’t care

A reader of my blog has written to me with an update about a case that I referred to her for her expert help some time ago. The appeal against draconian sanctions that she helped our mutual contact to conduct was successful, with the judge ruling that the ‘conditionality’ imposed on a jobseeker was unreasonable – and that the benefit sanction (immediate stoppage) used to punish the supposed miscreant was therefore unlawful.

But the Tory-led government is so single-minded in its determination to penalise benefit claimants for failing to find jobs that don’t exist that it is knowingly ignoring the judicial ruling and the precedent it sets, in order to continue what can only rightly be called persecution of the disadvantaged and vulnerable.

Here’s what she wrote to me:

I am a keen follower of your blog and thought you may be interested in this story…
I have recently helped…

A Clear Case of Disability Benefit Denial – SCANDELOUS

Many of you have been following my fight with the Department of Works & Pensions to get the right level of benefit I am entitled to, there has been further progress however it is not the progress befitting of such a large Government Department infarct I can safely go as far as saying it is arbitrary, willful discrimination and done with intent and IS no more than denial of my disability support indeed many will say Iain Duncan Smith’s way. Many of you will remember these posts I made, however I will put the links here again so those that have not read then can get the gravity of this disgusting situation:

Now with trying and failing to get help from my MP it has manifested into lies and deceit were the DWP has cooked themselves in there own stew pot it is good news for me in some respect but not good for the DWP as maladministration has been proved and the offer that was made to me last Tuesday for maladministration has been been I think set too low. Below is the letter I got from HM Courts and Tribunals Service with its attachment and the letter I will be posting back in rely today.

Doc to HMCTS from DWP 1

My reply to HM Court & Tribunal Service.

Enjoy the letter above I wrote but suffice to say I will update this morning when I have had chance to speak to the Decision Maker responsible for this farce.

Letter to Tim Taylor-Blake @ Complaints Resolution.

Is anyone stupid enough to fall for this Tory tax bribe?

“Cameron even contradicted himself in his speech! At one point he said, “Every bit of government waste we can cut… is money we can give back to you.” Then he went on to add: “If we don’t get to grips with the deficit now, we are passing a greater and greater burden of debt to our children.”

But we all know that Waste is not being cut, it is rising rapidly under this coalition Universal Credit and the Chaos at DWP ia just one of many examples oh and as for the deficit that has doubled and will continue to rise under this Government

Mike Sivier's blog

So David Cameron wants us to believe further public spending cuts will be used to ease the tax burden on the proles, does he?

He must think you’re stupid. Are you?

Exactly one month ago (February 5), the Institute of Fiscal Studies reported that Cameron’s Coalition government will be less than halfway through its planned spending cuts by the end of the current financial year, as Vox Political reported at the time.

These are the cuts that the government considers vital in order to bring the nation’s bank account back into some kind of balance in the near future.

If Cameron abandons the “long-term economic plan” his Tories have been touting for the last few months, in a bid to bring voters back on-side, it means he will want to make even more cuts if he is returned to office in 2015.

We can therefore draw only two possibilities…
